Wanna know the easiest yummiest recipe for gluten-free vegan burgers?
I have it, and it’s real, easy to nail, with only a few ingredients.
You will need a food processor for this, and blend in all the ingredients below, best to follow the order I put as well 🙂
Brown Rice – 1 cup, boiled
Sweet Potato – 1 cup, boiled, mashed
Red Kidney Beans – 1 can
Paprika – a good dash!
salt & pepper – as you like
Oil – 2-3 TBSP
Garlic – 1 clove, raw or quickly sautéd in a pan
Flaxseed – 1 TBSP blended and soaked in 2 TBSP of water
Chilli flakes – as many as you can handle!
You may need to adjust and add more cooked brown rice, or if you have any gluten-free flour, or even blend some GF oats, if the dough is too sticky 🙂
Flatten them and give them the typical burger shape 🙂 I suggest to make them about half cm thick, so they can cook evenly.
The best tip to make them easy to cook, firm and not sticky is to leave them overnight in the fridge wrapped with plastic (don’t recommend) or in beeswax wrap, or just on their own. They will get harder and won’t break down as much when you cook them!
You know you have a good dough when you touch them with clean hands you don’t get any residue on your fingertips and it does not feel sticky anymore 🙂
To cook on the pan, use some coconut oil, or olive oil and cook for 8-10 mins on each side on medium. Add some rosemary or italian herbs with the cooking for extra FLAVA!
Great source of protein and with the sweet potato, it’s also a good source of prebiotic!
You can do a batch and add them to your salads, roasted veggies as a protein source 🙂

Enjoy x
